Book Review

"The Way I Used to Be" is a novel written by Amber Smith. It was published in 2016 and has received critical acclaim for its exploration of important themes such as trauma, healing, and resilience.

The book tells the story of Eden McCrorey, a high school student whose life is dramatically changed after a traumatic event. The narrative spans four years, beginning with Eden's freshman year and following her through her high school experience. The story is divided into four sections, each representing a year of Eden's life.

As the book progresses, readers witness the profound impact of the trauma on Eden's emotional and psychological well-being. It explores the ways in which trauma can shape a person's identity and relationships, as well as the challenges of keeping such experiences hidden from others.

Throughout the novel, Eden grapples with feelings of guilt, shame, and self-blame. The author delves into the complex emotions and struggles that survivors of trauma often face. Despite the difficult subject matter, the book also offers a sense of hope as Eden gradually finds her voice and begins the healing process.

"The Way I Used to Be" tackles themes of consent, sexual assault, friendship, family dynamics, and the power of self-expression. It provides an intimate portrayal of the long-lasting effects of trauma and emphasizes the importance of seeking support and speaking out.

Amber Smith's novel has been praised for its raw and honest depiction of a survivor's journey. It addresses a sensitive topic with sensitivity and authenticity, resonating with readers who have experienced similar situations or who seek to gain a deeper understanding of the aftermath of trauma.

Please note that my response is based on the information available up until September 2021, and there may have been subsequent developments or releases related to the book since then.

The manner in which I used to be its golden smith's presentation novel and it's about a young lady named Eden and Eden is your normal typical great young lady

She excels at school she's in the school band she has extraordinary companions she's a tad on the geeky side however she has an extraordinary relationship with her more established sibling and she has cherishing guardians

So she has an ordinary typical life and she is 14 years of age she's somewhat credulous before all else anyway her whole life-altering events the night when her sibling's dearest companion Kevin somebody who's quite close with her family he slips into her room and he assaults her

This book happens over a range of four years it begins with her first year when the attack occurs and it goes the whole way to her senior year Eden doesn't let anybody know what happens generally in light of the fact that she's attempting to make sense of what occurred

She's attempting to comprehend the reason why occurred and how could somebody that she knows somebody that she trusts to do this to her it follows the outcome of that attack it follows her through her terrible decisions and she makes a ton of awful ones and she winds up driving individuals that adoration her away from her

Golden Smith's composing style is totally perfect in this book you can see that she is extraordinarily skilled and she truly has a particular talent with words she can dazzle you keep your consideration and she just totally drenches you in the story

One thing that I truly delighted in about her story is most certainly the primary person despite the fact that Inna pursues a ton of terrible decisions and she winds up harming a ton of individuals who are attempting to assist her difficulty with understanding the reason why she is how she is on the grounds that she doesn't let anybody know what has been going on with her

I still outrageously prefer to eat and Eden was only a sparkling star in this book she just got a handle on you and she pulls at your heartstrings and all through this book I was despite the fact that there were a few sections that truly baffled me about Eden.

I was continually rooting for her I believed her should have that change that she merits I was super associated I truly reinforced with this fundamental person

Eden is somebody who all through this clever she is only trusting that somebody will protect her from the circumstance that she has regarded herself as in

She's only trusting that somebody will come in take a gander at her and in a flash realize that something terrible happened to her in to save her from this life that she has

In any case, towards the finish of the novel, something that eden acknowledged it and that she learns is that she can hardly trust that somebody will drop by and salvage her

She needs to save herself and that is something that I truly delighted in about this book is the way that golden smith had the option to make eden such a solid person it's significantly more grounded than's she understood that she is that is one of the truly something that I truly delighted in about eden

Something else that I truly enjoyed about this novel is the old flame he is clearly a gorgeous love interest at all look I feel like the doorways in general and each book particularly why contemporary books are

In any case, he's much the same as the other contemporary books that I have perused particularly the y.A they all seem like exceptionally beguiling every little thing about them is wonderful anyway the adoration interest in his book is a gorgeous person he truly is he's famous

Nonetheless, he's exceptionally typical he is somebody who doesn't need the consideration that he gets he's somebody who's extremely charming somebody that I actually truly preferred and he's somebody who's not a knight in sparkling protection but rather one thing that I truly loved about him is his desired reality to be for eden

He needs to save her despite the fact that he doesn't have the foggiest idea what befell her he knows that she's not OK however he needs to associate with her and he needs to safeguard her from whatever hurt that she is feeling so in general I gave this book four and a half stars out of five it was totally flawlessly composed.
